This 5-day creative reset is designed to reconnect you with the kind of art that feels honest, powerful, and deeply personal. Guided by Brett and Dorielle, you’ll go beyond technique to explore the three foundations of impactful oil painting: skill, concept, and substance. Through live demos, one-on-one feedback, and immersive studio practice, you’ll strengthen your ability to paint the human form, develop symbolic storytelling, and create work that carries emotional weight and meaning.

Expect an inspiring week of artistic growth, creative breakthroughs, and genuine community in the heart of Downtown Colorado Springs. You’ll leave with stronger technical skills, a clearer artistic voice, finished works you’re proud of, and the momentum to create the art you’ve always wanted to make. What You’ll Learn:

Mastering the Human Form: We will guide you through the techniques of oil painting the human figure with both precision and expression. Learn how to capture not just the physical likeness, but the essence of your subject, with emphasis on anatomy, light, shadow, composition, and form.

Symbolism in Art: Learn how to incorporate symbolic elements into your work to convey complex ideas, emotions, and messages. We will discuss the use of visual metaphors, color theory, and other symbolic devices to give your work greater depth and resonance.

Conceptual Exploration: Tap into your creativity and push beyond the traditional boundaries of figurative painting. This workshop will introduce you to conceptual art practices, helping you to think critically about the themes and messages you wish to explore in your artwork.

Personal Expression: Through guided exercises and individual feedback, we’ll help you discover and evolve your own voice as an artist. You’ll have the space to explore personal themes, ideas, and stories through your paintings, while gaining the confidence to express yourself authentically.
